2008 Ohio State – Michigan Photos

An ugly first season for Michigan head coach Rich Rodriguez came to a fittingly ugly conclusion at Ohio Stadium.

The Buckeyes thumped Michigan, 42-7. It was the most lopsided game in the series since the famous 50-14 OSU win in 1968.

Chris Wells opened the scoring with a 59-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.

The Buckeyes used another long scoring play to make it 14-0 in the second. Terrelle Pryor hit Brian Hartline for a 53-yard touchdown.

Michigan cut it to 14-7 before halftime, but the Bucks quickly put the game away after the break.

Boom Herron’s 49-yard touchdown run made it 21-7, and then Pryor connected with Brian Robiskie to extend the lead to 28-7.

Another Herron score made it 35-7 before senior quarterback Todd Boeckman came off the bench to throw one final touchdown pass in the Horseshoe to Hartline.

The Buckeyes won a share of the Big Ten title, along with Penn State.
