On Wednesday, Ohio State cornerbacks coach Kerry Coombs spoke with the media and said that freshman cornerback Shaun Wade had just had his two best days as a Buckeye. Later that night, Wade was officially welcomed to the team by having his black stripe removed.

Wade (6-1 185) came to Ohio State from Trinity Christian Academy in Jacksonville, Florida. He was rated a 5-star prospect by 247Sports, Rivals, and ESPN. ESPN even had Wade ranked as their top cornerback in the 2017 recruiting class.
Wade enrolled early for the Buckeyes and took part in spring ball. He made an impression in the spring game when he was able to knock down a pass late in the game to help secure the victory for his Scarlet squad.
Now Wade finds himself in the mix to possibly be the fourth-man in an Ohio State cornerback rotation.

Gerd, once the last black stripe is removed for this fall camp, I think it’d be a cool thing to see a timeline comparison between this class and previous classes. We’re there more this year? The most? Did they come off earlier in camp? Seems a banner year in regards to this freshman class. I can’t wait until the season starts! Go Bucks!
That would be pretty cool. Sounds like a research project for an intern. 🙂
