Jordan Fuller, a junior safety on the Ohio State football team, was just named a first-team Academic All-American.
Fuller is a standout on the field, as well as in the classroom. He was the second-leading tackler on the OSU team this season, and a team captain.
He has a 3.81 GPA as a business major.
Fuller is just the 30th Ohio State player in history to earn first-team Academic All-American honors.
He was a second-team Academic All-American in 2017.
Throughout his career, Fuller totaled 145 tackles, 5 for loss, 3 interceptions, and 2 fumble recoveries.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Junior safety Jordan Fuller, Ohio State’s second-leading tackler in each of the past two seasons, has been named today a first-team 2018 Academic All-American. He is the 30th Buckeye to earn first-team Academic All-America honors and the 54th Buckeye all-time to be recognized for academic honors as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Fuller, from Norwood, N.J., and Old Tappan High School, is carrying a 3.81 overall grade point average while majoring in business. He was named a second-team Academic All-American last year as a sophomore.
Named a Big Ten Conference Distinguish Scholar in July, Fuller is building a most-impressive academic resume with two Academic All-Big Ten and two OSU Scholar-Athlete recognitions in addition to the distinguished scholar and Academic All-America honors.
A team captain and a 25-game starter, Fuller ranks second on the Big Ten champion Ohio State defense with 72 tackles this season after finishing second last year with 70 total stops. He has a team-high 53 solo tackles this season in addition to five passes defended, with one of those an interception in the win over Michigan.
Ohio State has produced six total Academic All-Americans in the last five years, including first-team honorees Jacoby Boren and Jack Willoughby in 2015, Sam Hubbard in 2016 and Fuller this year.
Fuller is the 12th player coached by Urban Meyer to earn Academic All-America accolades, a list that includes Utah DB Morgan Scalley (2003 and 2004), Utah QB Alex Smith (2004), Florida QB Tim Tebow (2007, 2008 and 2009), Boren (2014 and 2015), Willoughby (2015), Hubbard (2016) and Fuller (2017 and 2018).
