There is a lot to talk about with the Ohio State linebacker unit this spring.
From new position coach Al Washington, to the new “Bullet” position, and how many returning starters will win their jobs back, almost everything is up in the air.
Wednesday, following the fourth practice of spring ball, Washington and a few linebackers met with the media.
It was the first time Washington got a chance to talk after seeing his players on the field.
It was also an opportunity to go in-depth with a returning starter, Tuf Borland, and also some younger guys who are looking to crack the rotation and earn meaningful playing time this year.
You can watch the interviews with Washington, Borland, Dallas Gant, and Teradja Mitchell in their entirety below.
The linebackers who are smart enough aren’t athletic enough. The linebackers who are athletic enough are out of position too often.
I’m only cautiously optomistic that this can be solved with a better coach, though clearly there is correlation between the departure of Fickle and the start of lousy play at the linebacker position.
