COLUMBUS — Ohio State senior receiver Austin Mack won’t play in today’s game against the Wisconsin Badgers.
Mack was listed on Friday as a game-time decision, but when the Buckeyes took the field for warmups an hour prior to kickoff, Mack was dressed in street clothes.
Mack is fourth on the team with 15 receptions and 207 yards receiving. He has also caught a pair of touchdowns.
Mack dealt with an undisclosed injury throughout fall camp, but has played in every game this season.
Without Mack, the Buckeyes will be down a man at the Z receiver position. Sophomore Chris Olave will likely get the start.
Ohio State will have three X receivers and just one Z receiver healthy today. Will one of the X receivers — Binjimen Victor, Garrett Wilson, and Jaylen Harris — move over to Z? Or will true freshman Jameson Williams get more reps for the Buckeyes, providing an ability to stretch the field like few other OSU receivers can?
The game kicks of at 12:00 pm on FOX and everybody will find out then exactly how Ohio State is going to operate with Mack on the sidelines.
Go Bucks! Do we know if J Cooper DE will play today?
