Ohio State Buckeyes Football Photo Gallery: 2002 to 2011

Ohio State Buckeyes football photo gallery

As we mentioned when we started this Ohio State Buckeyes football photo gallery project, The-Ozone’s photographers have posted roughly 40,000 shots of OSU football since 2002.

This is the fifth post we’ve shared this month highlighting the very best of those photographs.

Round one included the 100 photos we consider the absolute best our photographers have ever taken of Ohio State football.

Of course, over the span of 18 seasons of Buckeye football, they’ve gotten a few more than 100 good ones, so then we went through the ones that just missed being included in that top group.

First, we featured the best of the rest from the 2002 to 2011 Ohio State football seasons.

Last time, we shared the shots that narrowly missed being Hall of Famers from the 2012 to 2014 seasons.

Then, it was a look at some incredible shots from the 2015 to 2019 seasons.

But even then, we had only posted roughly one percent of all of our OSU football photos. And with the football season still several months in the future, we figured you wouldn’t mind seeing a few more good ones that we’ve compiled.

This batch spans the years 2002 to 2011, and is arranged more or less chronologically by season.

Right off the bat, you get some great memories from the 2003 Fiesta Bowl win over Miami that gave Jim Tressel a national title in just his second season in Columbus.

After that, the Buckeyes and Badgers play in a monsoon, John Cooper is back at OSU in a very different role, Northwestern does something they hadn’t in more than 30 years, Bobby “Iceman” Carpenter is ready for Halloween, Doug Datish tries to keep up with Ted Ginn, and more.

Do you have a favorite shot from this gallery? Is there anything in the gallery below that should have been included in one of our earlier posts? Let us know what it is in the comments below.
