Justin Fields Creates Online Petition to Reinstate Big Ten Football Season

Justin Fields Ohio State Buckeyes Quarterback

COLUMBUS – Ohio State parents, coaches, and student-athletes have been very vocal about wanting a college football season this fall and not giving up on the season without a fight.

The latest push came from quarterback Justin Fields, on Twitter. Fields created and posted a petition on Sunday on behalf of the Big Ten players that called on the conference to reinstate the Big Ten football season.

We, the football players of the Big Ten, together with the fans and supporters of college football, request that the Big Ten Conference immediately reinstate the 2020 football season. Allow Big Ten players/teams to make their own choice as to whether they wish to play or opt out this fall season. Allow Big Ten players/teams who choose to opt out of playing a fall season to do so without penality or repercussion.”

“We want to play. We believe that safety protocols have been established and can be maintained to mitigate concerns of exposure to Covid 19. We believe that we should have the right to make decisions about what is best for our health and our future. Don’t let our hard work and sacrifice be in vain. #LetUsPlay!

  1. UNC just cancelled in person learning, but the football teams remain on campus preparing to play this season. How does that make any sense? Why is it too dangerous to learn but not to dangerous to play? And calling the pandemic scare tactics by a political party demonstrates a total lack of intellectual honesty and world events.

  2. Interesting that only certain conferences are shutting down and believe that 10/12 B1G states still have high school sports. So instead of watching OSU on TV, we’ll all go to Menard’s, Wal Mart, or a crowded state park and players will hang out with their friends.

  3. Buckeyenut. What are you talking about? moveon.org would love to see the Football season cancelled. They want to do anything to shut down the economy in the hope this will help their election chances in november. In fact the Democrats were probably behind the scare tactics that caused the season to be shut down. Last week on The Big Ten Network an official said it was unfortunate that politics was involved in the Big Ten’s decision to shut down the fall season. It was announced that Yale University had developed a non-invasive saliva test where the results could be found within a few hours. They called it a game changer. The Big Ten Conference was premature in shutting down the fall schedule and should reverse that very bad decision.

  4. Would love to support the petition, but reading the fine print, to sign you also are signing up for moveon.org. Uh, no thanks. There arent many things more important to me than college and Ohio State football, but what moveon and what I believe in is one of those things.

    1. You are dead wrong by concluding that Justin’s plea is in anyway endorsing or as you say by agreeing with Justin, we are signing on to the move on organization. He is merely saying that established protocols satisfy the concerns raised by move on.
I agree that the leftists definitely influenced this terrible irrational decision but apparently move on was not part of that influence or at least Justin belies that to be the case. And I believe Justin.

  5. I signed and sent to over a hundred friends!
