Nation's No. 2 Safety Josh Proctor Commits to Ohio State
By Tony Gerdeman
Josh Proctor is commitment No. 7 for the Buckeyes in 2018.

Ohio State is always looking for talented defensive backs, and they certainly found one on Saturday when 4-star Oklahoma safety Josh Proctor verbally committed to the Buckeyes.

He announced his commitment on Twitter, writing, "First and foremost, I would like to thank all of my coaches and family, and most important of all God. I would like to thank all of the colleges and universities that have offered me, but there is only one school that truly fit me. With that being said, for the next 3-4 years I will be suiting up for the Scarlet and Gray! I am officially an Ohio State Buckeye!!!!"

Proctor (6-2 190) is from Owasso, Oklahoma and is rated the No. 2 safety in the nation per 247Sports, and their No. 26 player overall. He is rated the No. 7 safety per the 247Sports Composite and the No. 87 player overall.

A U.S. Army All-American, Proctor committed to the Buckeyes over offers from Oklahoma, Michigan, Texas, Georgia, Florida, Arkansas, and many others.

The Buckeyes now have seven verbal commitments in the 2018 class, and all seven are ranked in the Top 100 of the Composite, with Proctor being the lowest at No. 87.

Proctor joins California safety Jaiden Woodbey as OSU's lone secondary commits so far. Woodbey is rated the No. 3 safety in the nation per 247Sports.

We will have more on Proctor's commitment in the coming days. For now you can check out his highlights below.
