Incoming Linebacker Brendon White Moved to Receiver

COLUMBUS — Incoming Ohio State freshman Brendon White played a number of positions in high school, including quarterback, but now after already getting in a few practices at linebacker for the Buckeyes, he is headed for 'Zone6' and the OSU receivers room.

White is already enrolled, and because he didn't take part in any postseason all-star games, he actually practiced with the Buckeyes a few times on campus last month during bowl prep. At that point he was still practicing with the linebackers, however.

What kind of receiver prospect is he? Well, prior to his senior season he measured in at 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds and ripped off a 4.54 40-yard dash at a Nike combine. He was a First-Team All-State defensive back as a junior, but has plenty of experience at receiver as well.

With the unexpected departure of Noah Brown to the NFL, having White already on campus to go through winter workouts and spring practice will give both him and the Buckeyes a leg up on finding prospective replacements.

White was the second defender moved to receiver on Wednesday, as the incoming freshman joined rising junior safety Eric Glover-Williams as the newest members of Zone 6.

The 2017 recruiting class now has three receivers in it, as White is joined by Trevon Grimes and Tyjon Lindsey. Four-star Cleveland receiver Jaylen Harris has his Ohio State official set for next weekend.
