Absolute speed. Ran a 4.31 hand-timed 40-yard dash at a combine last February. A shut down cornerback prospect who is a very talented receiver, which means he is quite comfortable playing the ball in the air. Triggers very well and gets to screens quickly. Is a D-I prospect as a receiver as well, but will begin on defense for the Buckeyes. A tremendous return specialist as well. Perhaps the fastest player in the state.
Ward could help out immediately in the return game. He is an explosive player wherever he lines up. Cornerback is currently backlogged with a bunch of young players, but that also means there aren't many proven players standing between Ward and playing time. Despite that, a redshirt would not be a surprise.
