Nothing cleanses the taste of defeat like the taste of victory. The Buckeyes spent a week with the sour taste of their loss to Oklahoma in their mouths. They got rid of it with a one-sided win over Army. The Buckeyes scored on their first two possessions to take a 14-0 lead in the first quarter and really never looked back.
No. 5 Oklahoma (2-0) came to Ohio Stadium a seven-point underdog in the eyes of the wise guys. The wise guys proved to be not so wise. The Sooners played like a team with something to prove, and did just that in completely dominating No. 2 Ohio State (1-1) for a 31-16 win that wasn’t really as close as the final score.

“Ohio State sophomore quarterback Joe Burrow had surgery yesterday – Tuesday, Aug. 22 – on his right hand to repair a broken bone and will be sidelined indefinitely. Burrow sustained the injury during practice on Monday. The surgery was performed at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.”
