I'm not sure if you're able to integrate the new forum and the articles you post, but if so, it might be better than having a forum and then a separate comments section for articles.
This would integrate the two parts of the site together, and, perhaps increase usage of the new forum.
I know you're posting links to the articles in the forum, but when in the article you see a comments section below the article, that is not the forum.
Hopefully this makes sense...
That's a good idea Fairfax. I've found myself commenting on the article posts and then looking at the forum thread and wondering where my post was until I remembered I posted on the article. It's not a problem but combining the two commenting sections could increase traffic to the forum.

I've seen discussions of this capability over the last couple of months during the redesign, but I didn't look into how it is implemented or how seamless it would be. I'll check into it now though and see what is possible/available.
