Football Coverage Begins Sunday, August 3
By John Porentas

Calm down, calm down. You've been in withdrawal since January and the schedule says the first kickoff is still about a month away, but for all intents and purposes football season begins this Sunday when the Buckeyes report for fall camp, and that's when the-Ozone's football coverage will also begin. Your life will then return to normal, we promise.

Between August 3 and August 19 members of the media will have access to the OSU football team eight times. Of those times, three are photo opportunities. Cameras will be allowed as players arrive for check in at the team hotel on Sunday, August 3, for the first three periods of practice on Monday, August 4, and of course on media day on Thursday, August 7.

The Buckeyes will conduct a night practice at Ohio Stadium which will be open to the media and to public on Monday, August 18. The time for that event has not yet been announced. No other practice session is currently scheduled to be open to the public or the media.

The remaining media availabilities are scheduled for August 12 (defensive line), August 14 (offensive line), August 16 (post-scrimmage interviews with Coach Tressel and selected players) and August 19 (linebackers). Those events take place after practice at the media suite at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center.

The-Ozone's coverage of fall camp this season will for the first time include video. We have been encouraged by the response to our little experiment with video in Chicago at the Big Ten Media meeting so we will be providing video of fall camp activities in addition to our usual photo and text coverage.

If you have any suggestions or request regarding our fall camp coverage please feel free to offer them. We're also interested in finding out what you like and don't like in our video coverage. That is new ground for us and we'll be kind of feeling our way, so please don't hesitate to let us know what you think. Also let us know what you'd like to see more of and what you'd like to see less of in our video coverage.

Hang in there. Just a few more days.

Send your suggestions and comments
