Future Buckeyes Highlight 67th Annual Ohio North-South Classic
By Brandon Castel

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Spring practice might be in full swing for Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes, who are preparing for Saturday’s Scarlet and Gray Spring Game, but a few future Ohio State players will also be in action this week.

While Bri’onte Dunn, one of the two running backs Ohio State signed in the class of 2012, is busy trying to earn carries in spring camp this April, their other running back signee headlines the Annual Ohio North-South All-Star Classic Friday night.

Columbus DeSales tailback Warren Ball is one of three future Buckeyes in the 67th installment of the nation’s longest running high school football all-star game. Steubenville defensive back Najee Murray will join Ball on the South team, while Glenville’s Devan Bogard will play for the North squad.

Vandalia Butler offensive tackle Taylor Decker was supposed to be a part of the game before his plans changed. He enrolled at Ohio State in March and is now working as the backup right tackle behind senior Reid Fragel.

This year’s game will also feature a number of future Big Ten players, including a defensive lineman headed to Nebraska, along with four players headed to Michigan State and four more on their way to Ann Arbor.

Kenton High School coach Mike Mauk will coach the South Team, while Liberty Center’s Rex Lingruen will handle the North team.  Here is a closer look at the game, which will kickoff Friday at 4 p.m. in Ohio Stadium—the night before Ohio State’s spring game.
