Ohio State LB Arrested for Alleged Domestic Violence

COLUMBUS, Ohio — If Storm Klein was hoping to win back his starting spot this fall, he may be going about it the wrong way.
According to Franklin County Municipal Court records, a Storm Klein was arrested Friday and charged with domestic violence and assault—both misdemeanor charges in the state of Ohio.

An Ohio State University spokesman could not confirm it was the same Storm Klein who plays inside linebacker for the Buckeyes, but the one arrested Friday was 6-3, 240 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes.
He was born in April of 1991.
According to Ohio State’s official roster, Klein is listed as 6-2, 242 pounds. If this is indeed the same Klein who plays linebacker for Ohio State—and we are still waiting for official confirmation—he would face serious punishment from Urban Meyer.
Ohio State’s first-year head coach recently suspended veterans Jake Stoneburner and Jack Mewhort indefinitely for their arrests earlier this summer. Both players allegedly ran from police after they were spotted urinating on the side of a building outside The Bogey Bar and Grill in Dublin, Ohio.
Meyer went as far as to remove Stoneburner and Mewhort—two projected starters—from their athletic scholarships for the summer semester. He also released defensive backs Dominic Clarke and DerJuan Gambrell from their scholarships back in January. Both players had been arrested for the second time.
If true, this would be the second arrest for Klein, who was reportedly booked for assault back in the summer of 2010. The chargers were subsequently dropped, and Klein was never punished—at least publicly by former OSU head coach Jim Tressel.
The senior from Licking Valley is in his fourth season at Ohio State. He is a three-year letterman who started 10 games for the Buckeyes a year ago, but injuries kept him from practicing much in the spring. He was passed by sophomore Curtis Grant at middle linebacker, and the latest incident could spell the end of Klein’s tenure at Ohio State, if convicted.
A captain for team USA in the 2009 Junior World Championships, Klein has an arraignment scheduled for Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m.
*We will continue to monitor the situation until we receive official confirmation from Ohio State. Again, the charges are only that at the moment, as Klein is still innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
