Buckeyes Will Kick Season Off on BTN
By Tony Gerdeman

The Big Ten has released the kickoff times for its first three weeks of the college football season, and Ohio State will kickoff at noon for all three of them.

Urban Meyer will make his debut for the Buckeyes on the Big Ten Network against Miami (OH) at noon on September 1st. Ohio State, which has won its last 33 home openers, is 4-0 all-time against the Redhawks, with the most recent meeting being a 34-14 win in 2005.

The Buckeyes will then host UCF one week later for a noon kickoff on ESPN2. This is the first meeting between the two schools, though Meyer's Florida Gators defeated the Knights 42-0 during their 2006 championship season.

The California Golden Bears then come to Columbus on September 15th for a noon kick on ABC, which will be shown to the entire nation. The Buckeyes are 5-1 all-time against Cal, but the two schools haven't played since 1972.

Four other kickoff times for Ohio State have previously been announced. The Buckeyes will host Nebraska on October 6 at 8:00 pm. The game will be aired on either ABC, ESPN or ESPN2. Ohio State will play at Indiana the following week on BTN, and that game will kickoff at 8:00 pm as well.

The Buckeyes' third primetime game of the season will be at Penn State and will kickoff at 6:00 pm. It will be aired by either ESPN or ESPN2.

Ohio State's final game of the season will of course be against Michigan in Ohio Stadium and will kick off at noon on ABC to a national audience.

Other Notable Kickoffs

Overall, BTN will air 15 games over the first three weeks of the season, including a total of eight on September 15th alone.

Along with the game times on BTN, every other kickoff time in the conference for the first three weeks was released as well. Minnesota will get the Big Ten season going, with an 11:00 pm kickoff at UNLV on Thursday, August 30th on CBS Sports Network.

Michigan State hosts Boise State the following evening for an 8:00 pm kickoff on ESPN. The Big Ten will then be featured for a third night in a row, when Michigan and Alabama meet in Arlington, Texas on ABC at 8:00 pm Saturday night.

Purdue heads to Notre Dame on September 8th for a 3:30 pm kick on NBC. Michigan will host Air Force at the same time on ABC and ESPN2. Vanderbilt and Northwestern will meet in Evanston at 8:00 pm on BTN for the second and final Big Ten/SEC matchup of the season.

Cal and Ohio State kickoff week three with their ABC national game at noon. Navy travels to Penn State for a 3:30 pm kick on ABC/ESPN2. Michigan State hosts Notre Dame at 8:00 pm on ABC, which is one of three 8:00 pm kickoffs for the Big Ten in week three. The other two have Utah State traveling to Wisconsin and Indiana hosting Ball State, both being aired by BTN.
