Staff Picks: OSU vs. Cal
By the-Ozone Staff

The talk coming into this game has been California's fast-paced offense, but the Buckeye offense will do just fine on its own. Regardless of who is at quarterback for Ohio State, the playmakers will be ready. Defensively, there are going to be a lot of opportunities to make plays, and the secondary should have a very good evening. Ohio State 48, Cal 20 — Tony Gerdeman (2-0)

The last time the Buckeyes traveled to Berkeley was 1972. Ohio State won that game 35-18 behind three Harold Henson rushing touchdowns. This one isn't even going to be that close. Ohio State 42, Cal 17 — Rob Ogden (2-0)

California plays a style of offense that is hard to prepare for. They will run a lot of plays quickly and will throw the ball a lot. The Buckeyes have superior talent and should win this game with ease (Cal gave up 616 yards and 30 points to Portland State). No matter who starts at QB for OSU, they will put up some big points. Ohio State 56, Cal 23 — Patrick Murphy (2-0)

Everybody is talking offense. I like what I see in how the OSU defense is evolving. Like everybody else, I think the Buckeyes offense will put points on the board. I also think the OSU special teams will, and so will the defense. Ohio State 52, Cal 13 — John Porentas (2-0)

With or without Braxton Miller, the Buckeyes should be able to take care of business on Saturday against Cal. After all, this is the same Cal team that was manhandled by Northwestern before squeaking by Portland State last week, but the uncertainty surrounding Miller coupled with the team's first road trip of the season could make things a little more interesting than Urban Meyer would like.  Ohio State 34, Cal 17 — Brandon Castel (2-0)
