Injury Update
By Rob Ogden

Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller practiced on Wednesday, and will likely be used in a limited role on Saturday when Ohio State faces Florida A&M, coach Urban Meyer said Wednesday.

“He’s still not at full speed, but he practiced today,” Meyer said. “I think he'll be ready for a somewhat limited role, that’s kind of what I’m counting on right now.”

Miller didn't dress for last weekend's game at California after spraining his left knee during the first series of Ohio State's win over San Diego State on Sept. 7.

Meyer didn't give any indication about whether Miller, or backup Kenny Guiton would get the start on Saturday. Left tackle Jack Mewhort said Guiton has been getting the majority of the reps during practice this week, and added that most of Miller's reps have been "mental."

Meyer said that they wouldn't hold Miller back this week in anticipation of Big Ten play beginning next weekend, and added that it's probably in Miller's best interest to get some snaps in before Wisconsin comes to town.

“It’s concerning,” Meyer said. “I know (Miller) is experienced, but he’s certainly not a finished product yet. I need to get him as many reps as he can get. The good thing is that there’s confidence in Guiton."

Senior safety C.J. Barnett said that Miller has "looked great" in limited practice this week.

Guiton was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against Cal. In his first-career start, the fifth-year senior completed 21-32 passing attempts for 276 yards and four touchdowns .

Although Miller is likely to return from his injury this weekend, sophomore defensive end Adolphus Washington will not, Meyer said.

Washington is still feeing the effects of a groin injury he suffered during the San Diego State game. He didn't make the trip to Cal, and Meyer said that they hope to get Washington back for the Wisconsin game.

Freshman Joey Bosa will again likely get the start in Washington's absence.
