Monday Number Crunching: The Team

The Buckeyes got another win on Saturday, and they continued piling up impressive numbers. Their most impressive number right now, however, involves their winning streak.

...With the win, Ohio State extends the nation's longest winning streak to 18 games – the fourth-longest streak in school history. The longest is 22 games from 1967-69.

...Urban Meyer is now 26-10 in his career vs. ranked teams and 5-0 at Ohio State.

...Urban Meyer's teams are 20-0 since 2005 when blocking a punt and 4-0 at Ohio State.

...Ohio State's 46.8 points per game is leading the Big Ten and seventh in the nation. The Buckeyes' 38 touchdowns are third most in the nation. Baylor has 39 touchdowns in just four games this season.

...The Buckeyes are fourth in scoring defense (19.2 ppg) in the Big Ten.

...The Buckeyes are fourth in the Big Ten in total offense per game, averaging 492.8 yards. They are third in the Leaders Division, behind Indiana (535.0) and Wisconsin (518.0)

...Ohio State's 447 plays is second in the conference to Iowa's 456. However, in nine fewer plays, the Buckeyes have 456 more yards than the Hawkeyes.

...Ohio State's 17 rushing touchdowns and 19 passing touchdowns both lead the conference.

...The Buckeyes are second in the conference in run defense (86.2 ypg) and seventh in the nation. Their 2.69 yards per carry allowed is also seventh.

...Ohio State has given up 10 passing touchdowns this season, which is tied for the most in the Big Ten with Iowa. The 240 passing yards allowed per game is seventh in the conference.

...The Buckeyes are second in the Big Ten in punting, averaging an even 40 yards net per punt. The 0.1 return yards per punt is tops in the conference.

...Ohio State is the only team in the nation with three running backs who have rushed for at least 160 yards in a game this season (Carlos Hyde 168, Jordan Hall 168, Ezekiel Elliott 162). Louisiana Tech is the only other team to even have two running backs.

...Ohio State is one of three conference teams who have yet to miss a field goal. They are 5-5 this season. The Buckeyes are one of 17 teams around the country who are perfect on field goal tries this season.

...The Buckeyes lead the Big Ten in sacks with 16. They are 10th in the nation.

...89 of Ohio State's first downs have come on the ground. That's 17 more than #2 Nebraska. Ohio State is tied with Air Force for second nationally behind Army (102).

...Ohio State's opponents are converting just 25.3% of third downs, which is second in the Big Ten behind Michigan State (22.1%). The Buckeyes are sixth in the nation; the Spartans are first.

...Ohio State leads the Big Ten with 55 carries of 10 or more yards. That is second in the nation behind New Mexico's 56.

...Ohio State, Michigan and East Carolina remain the only defenses in the nation who have not allowed a carry of 20 or more yards.
