the-Ozone Staff Picks

Urban Meyer is expecting a quick start for the Buckeyes, and so am I. Expect the Ohio State offense to attack early and often. I'm going to go ahead and call for Braxton Miller's first career 300-yard passing game. Oh, and how about a Philly Brown punt return for a touchdown? Ohio State 56 - Purdue 7 — Tony Gerdeman (8-0)

Ohio State is getting all the press lately, but Purdue still has that big drum. This one's gonna come down to which band shows better marching technique and … Oh, you mean there's a football game? Ohio State 54, Purdue 6 —Rob Ogden (8-0)

The Buckeyes have had their issues with Purdue in the past, something people like to bring up, but that doesn't have to apply to this team. After last week's thrashing of Penn State, OSU now knows what it is like to have all things clicking. They will want to keep that going. Meanwhile, Purdue is just a bad football team. They don't have the weapons to hang with Ohio State, much less slow them down. Ohio State 55, Purdue 10 — Patrick Murphy (8-0)

I think I've been at Purdue for 10 of OSU's eight losses there (yes that was an attempt at humor). Just seems like something hinky always happens in West Lafayette. Ask Mike Tomczak (I really was there for that one). All that being said, I just can't see it this time. Darrell Hazell and Marcus Freeman are very nice people and I like them both, but they're going to have to endure a bad Saturday. Ohio State 49, Pudue 17 — John Porentas (8-0)

On paper, this game looks like it should be another Buckeye blowout. Ohio State is coming off a complete dismantling of Penn State last week and Purdue has lost five straight and six of seven over all this year. Darrell Hazel's only victory of the season came against Indiana State back in week two, and the Boilers have been outscored 227-65. We've seen OSU struggle against teams like this before in West Lafayette, but I think they continue their momentum from last week instead. Ohio State 42, Purdue 17 — Brandon Castel (8-0)
