Spring Game Rosters: Closer Look at Gray
By Brandon Castel

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Gray team, coached by Ed Warinner and Luke Fickell, in Saturday’s spring game will feature most of Ohio State’s first-team defense.

Warinner actually the head coach of the Gray squad, which was announced on Friday, but Fickell will have most of his starters on defense for the annual Scarlet and Gray spring game.

This year’s game was moved to Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati, and the Gray offense could have a really interesting time trying to score. They won’t be facing much of a defense form the Scarlet squad, but the second-team offensive line will make it difficult for quarterback Cardale Jones and the offense to move the football on Saturday.

Kenny Guiton and Warren Ball will play for both squads, which is critical for a Gray team that will be without the services of Rod Smith. Carlos Hyde also won’t get much action on Saturday, but Smith is expected to miss the game with a minor concussion.

The Gray defense will match up against Braxton Miller and most of the first-team offense. It will feature most of the guys who have been running with the ones all spring, although Camren Williams may be out there a lot on Saturday if Ryan Shazier can’t go.

Bradley Roby will not play in the spring game because of a shoulder injury, which means Armani Reeves will be out there across from Doran Grant.

Kerry Coombs, Stan Drayton and Zach Smith will round out Warinner’s coaching staff on Saturday.
