Projected Post-Spring Depth Chart: Offense (Includes Incoming Freshmen)
By Brandon Castel

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Spring football is officially over in Columbus and nearly every one of Ohio State’s starting spots has been accounted for. There are still some position battles yet to be determined this fall, most notably the competition to replace senior Reid Fragel at right tackle.

Sophomores Taylor Decker and Chase Farris are locked in a man-to-man battle for that spot, with Decker slightly out in front according to offensive line coach Ed Warinner.

Junior Rod Smith has established himself as the clear No. 2 at tailback behind incumbent Carlos Hyde, but Stan Drayton is sure to renew that competition in the fall, especially with the arrival of freshman Ezekiel Elliott out of St. Louis.

Then there is the matter of the hybrid slotback position. Jordan Hall was supposed to be the guy, but he hardly practiced this spring. Chris Fields played that spot in his stead, and Urban Meyer even named Fields as a starter after the spring game.

Exactly where is yet to be determined, but speedsters like Dontre Wilson, Jalin Marshall and James Clark might have something to say about it in the fall. Here’s a look at our projection of what Ohio State’s offensive depth chart looks like after spring ball in Columbus.
