COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State announced on Thursday that the November 8 game between the Buckeyes and the Michigan State Spartans is now set for an 8 p.m. kickoff.
Buckeyes and Spartans Will Play at Night
By Tony Gerdeman
The game, which is now the fifth night game on the Buckeyes' schedule, will air on ABC. The five night games are the most in school history, as are the three home night games.
The current primetime games on Ohio State's schedule are the following: Sept. 6 vs Virginia Tech (8 p.m.); Sept. 27 vs Cincinnati (6 p.m.); Oct. 25 at Penn State (8 p.m.); Nov. 1 vs Illinois (8 p.m.); and Nov. 8 at Michigan State (8 p.m.).
Ohio State is officially 39-22 all-time in night games (those starting after 5 p.m. local time). Ohio State is 29-19 in night games played on the road (20-10) or at a neutral site (9-9), and 10-3 in Ohio Stadium night games. (Records reflect vacated night game wins in 2010: Marshall, at Minnesota and vs. Arkansas).
The Buckeyes have won three road Big Ten games in a row, with their last loss coming in 2011 at Nebraska. They have, however, lost their last two night games overall, those being the Orange Bowl and the Big Ten Championship Game last season.
Even though this will be the second year in a row that features a primetime kickoff between Ohio State and Michigan State, this will be the first time ever the two teams have met under the lights on campus.
