OSU vs. Illinois Staff Picks
By the-Ozone Staff

I'm fairly certain that whichever way I pick, the opposite will happen. But I really can't imagine Thad Matta's squad dropping a fifth straight game, especially to an Illinois team that is struggled equally as much. Sorry Buckeye fans. Ohio State 62, Illinois 58 — Rob Ogden (1-3)

The Buckeyes haven't lost consecutive home games since February of 2008, and I just can't imagine it happening here. Check that – I can imagine it. I can imagine any number of losses for this team at the moment. But I can't go with an Illinois team that has lost four straight. If the Buckeyes were playing this game on the road, I'd probably take Illinois, but the Illini are just as much of a mess as Ohio State. I'll go with the messed up unit that has the home court advantage in this one. Ohio State 63, Illinois 54 — Tony Gerdeman (1-3)

The Buckeyes are not the only one on a slide as I've dropped three predictions in a row. I want to get out of this slump and I know OSU does, too. There may be lineup changes, as the wheels have fallen off, so I'm hoping they finally prove me right. This is still a good team, they just haven't figured things out. I think an Illinois team that has also lost four in a row could be the medicine to create some confidence. Ohio State 68, Illinois 62 — Patrick Murphy (1-3)

The bad news is that the Buckeyes can’t shoot it. The good news is that Illinois is shooting it worse than the Buckeyes.  Based on the last four games, the smart pick might be OSU 11, Illinois 4. I’m not that smart, but unless some weirdness happens OSU’s offense doesn’t really have to improve to outscore the Illini because offensively, Illinois is really, really bad. Both teams will bring some defense, so baskets will be tough to come by. If you know any friends who need a transfusion invite them over to watch this game, because it's going to make your eyes bleed. Ohio State 58, Illinois 49. — John Porentas (0-4, they really should have beaten MSU)
