Ohio State Recruiting: Prep Report
By Tony Gerdeman

This past weekend was not one to write home about for many of the 16 Buckeye commits. Injuries and weather affected a few, and superior teams affected a few more.

There were still some notable performances, including that of Ezekiel Elliot and Taivon Jacobs, who both seem to make plays every single week.

Tim Gardner (OL), Indianapolis, IN Lawrence Central HS
Gardner's Lawrence Central team defeated Pike 34-23 to move to 4-0 on the season. He helped pave the way for a couple of rushing touchdowns.

Taivon Jacobs (WR), District Heights, MD Suitland HS
Jacobs had a 45-yard touchdown catch and a 49-yard punt return in a 56-0 win over Oxon Hill. He has now scored on the ground, through the air, on an interception and via a punt return this season.

Michael Hill (DT), Pendleton, SC Pendleton HS
Hill's Pendleton team lost 41-7 to Belton-Honea Path, who was playing for a classmate and former teammate who had passed away one day earlier.

Darron Lee (ATH), New Albany, OH New Albany HS
Lee completed 3-5 passes for 42 yards and carried it five times for 23 yards, including a 29-yard touchdown. He also returned a punt 47 yards for a touchdown in New Albany's 56-22 win over DeSales.

Johnny Townsend (P), Orlando, FL Boone HS
Boone's game against Timber Creek was postponed until Sept. 21.

Joey Bosa (DL), Fort Lauderdale, FL St. Thomas Aquinas
Bosa sat out last week's win against Cypress Bay with a concussion. His St. Thomas Aquinas team will be on ESPN2 Friday night at 8:00 playing Don Bosco Prep.

J.T. Barrett (QB), Wichita Falls, TX Rider HS
Barrett completed just 4-7 passes for 84 yards and a touchdown, while rushing 17 times for 97 yards and a touchdown in a 21-15 win over Denton Ryan.

Tracy Sprinkle (DL), Elyria, OH Elyria HS
Sprinkle recovered a blocked punt in the endzone for his first career touchdown, but it wasn't enough as his Elyria team lost 37-27 to Midview.

Marcus Baugh (TE), Riverside, CA J.W. North HS
Baugh sat out last week's game with a concussion that he suffered Monday in practice. He may miss this week's game as well.

Ezekiel Elliott (RB), St. Louis, MO, John Burroughs HS

Elliott scored on touchdown runs of 47, 41, 2 and 1 in Burroughs' 59-28 win over Priory. The game started on Friday but was suspended until Saturday because of weather. Elliott also started at cornerback.

Jayme Thompson (DB), Toledo, OH, Central Catholic HS
Central Catholic defeated Perrysburg 35-7. Thompson helped hold Perrysburg to just 130 yards of total offense.

Evan Lisle (OT), Centerville, OH, Centerville HS
The Elks got their first win of the season with a 27-21 victory over Withrow.

Eli Woodard (CB), Voorhees, NJ, Eastern HS
Eastern finally got their season kicked off with a 9-6 win over Washington Township.

Billy Price (DL/OL), Youngstown, OH, Austintown Fitch
Price was reportedly a menace on the defensive line, initiating a defense that led to a 35-7 win over Brunswick.

Jalin Marshall (QB), Middletown, OH, Middletown HS
Marshall rushed for 77 yards on 24 carries and threw a 39-yard touchdown pass in a 51-13 loss to Winton Woods. He completed 4-7 passes and also threw an interception.

Cameron Burrows (DB), Trotwood, OH, Trotwood HS
Trotwood lost 21-14 to Braxton Miller's old team Wayne High School. Trotwood dropped to 1-2 with the loss.
