Ohio State Recruiting: Prep Report
By Tony Gerdeman

Two of the Buckeyes' 2013 commits are now done for the season thanks to injuries. Both Michael Hill and J.T. Barrett will finish the high school careers watching from the sidelines.

The rest of the Buckeye commits, however, are still making plays, and making names.

Tyquan Lewis (DE/OLB), Tarboro, NC Tarboro HS
Tarboro stayed perfect (9-0) with a 21-0 win at Farmville Central. Lewis caught a pass for eleven yards and led a defense that held Farmville under 200 yards of total offense.

Tim Gardner (OL), Indianapolis, IN Lawrence Central HS
Lawrence Central also moved to 9-0 with their 34-13 win over Southport.

Taivon Jacobs (WR), District Heights, MD Suitland HS
It was another big day for Jacobs. He caught five passes for 191 yards, including a 79-yard touchdown. He also carried the ball three times for 29 yards in Suitland's (6-1) 35-0 win over over Bladensburg.

Michael Hill (DT), Pendleton, SC Pendleton HS
Hill's season has come to an end due to torn ligaments in his hand that he suffered over a week ago in Pendleton's 34-7 win over Carolina Academy. Pendleton's coach Paul Sutherland said that Hill had his finger crushed and the ligaments were separated from the bone. Surgery will be necessary. "This will certainly not keep him from playing at Ohio State," Sutherland told the Independent Mail in South Carolina. "This isn't like a running back who suffers a knee injury."

Darron Lee (ATH), New Albany, OH New Albany HS
New Albany defeated Watkins Memorial 34-7 to move to 7-2 on the season. New Albany had a fantastic night on the ground, including five touchdown runs that totaled 240 yards rushing.

Johnny Townsend (P), Orlando, FL Boone HS
Boone dropped to 3-4 this season with a 46-22 loss to Orlando Freedom. Meanwhile, Townsend has been named to East roster of the Army All-American Game. "It's incredible ... just a huge honor," Townsend told the Orlando Sentinel. "When I first found out, I was a little in shock because it seemed so unreal. To get an opportunity to play in such a big game like this is just a huge honor." Townsend will be joining a handful of other Buckeye commits in the game, which has him excited. "That's the number one most exciting thing for me looking at the roster and seeing there are several Ohio State commits playing in the same game. I'm excited to be able to get to know them a little better and to get to play with them out there."

Joey Bosa (DL), Fort Lauderdale, FL St. Thomas Aquinas
St. Thomas Aquinas scored 41 points in the second quarter to pace their 50-6 win over Nova. The Raiders improved to 6-1 on the season.

J.T. Barrett (QB), Wichita Falls, TX Rider HS
Barrett's knee injury (ACL tear) has ended his season.

Tracy Sprinkle (DL), Elyria, OH Elyria HS
Sprinkle got back to his stat-blasting ways with twelve tackles and four sacks in a 26-16 win over Hudson and Michigan LB/RB commit Ben Gedeon. Elyria improved to 7-2.

Marcus Baugh (TE), Riverside, CA J.W. North HS
North lost 34-13 to Rancho Verde to drop their record to 4-4. Baugh finished with four receptions for 45 yards, with a long of 30 yards. He carried the ball three times for eight yards, and also had six tackles.

Ezekiel Elliott (RB), St. Louis, MO, John Burroughs HS
Elliott started the ball game with a 90-yard kickoff return touchdown which sparked their 34-6 win over Maplewood. The win improves John Burroughs to 8-0 on the season. Elliott finished the game with 205 yards rushing on 28 carries, including a one-yard touchdown carry.

Jayme Thompson (DB), Toledo, OH, Central Catholic HS
Central Catholic shut out St. Francis 60-0 after leading 41-0 at the half. Central Catholic came away with four interceptions.

Evan Lisle (OT), Centerville, OH, Centerville HS
For the first time in decades, Centerville dropped a game to Beavercreek. The 27-21 loss sinks the Elks to 5-4.

Eli Woodard (CB), Voorhees, NJ, Eastern HS
Per Scout, Eastern came back from ten down to secure a 20-17 victory over Cherokee. Their record improved to 5-2 overall. Earlier in the week, Woodard was presented with his Army All-American game jersey.

Billy Price (DL/OL), Youngstown, OH, Austintown Fitch
With their 28-6 win over Uniontown Lake, the Austintown Fitch Falcons have now moved to 8-1 on the season.

Jalin Marshall (QB), Middletown, OH, Middletown HS
Marshall rushed for 135 yards and a touchdown and also threw a touchdown in Middletown's (3-6) 20-19 win over Hamilton.

Cameron Burrows (DB), Trotwood, OH, Trotwood HS
Trotwood rolled 75-7 over Sidney to move the Rams' season record to 7-3.
