Per Reports, Temple Transfer Anthony Lee Chooses Ohio State
By Tony Gerdeman

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Thad Matta and his Ohio State basketball team may have just gotten a much-needed boost in the paint as Jeff Goodman of ESPN.com is reporting that Temple post player Anthony Lee (6-9 230) is transferring to OSU.

Lee, who scored 13.6 points per game and averaged 8.6 rebounds per game this season, is a graduate transfer and will be eligible to play immediately. He has one year of eligibility remaining.

Lee chose Ohio State over Iowa State, Louisville, Indiana and Notre Dame. He was visiting OSU this weekend and has reportedly committed on his visit. He still has visits to Iowa State and Indiana next month, but those are now obviously in doubt.

The Buckeyes were hampered by an inconsistent post play from Amir Williams and Trey McDonald all season long, and Lee could provide a consistency that they have lacked for a couple of years now. Lee scored in double figures in 22 of his 28 games this season, and pulled down double figure rebounds 12 times.

Lee shot .495 from the field this past season and .655 from the free throw line. He is not a three-point shooter, but does have more range than any current OSU post player. He also averaged 0.8 assists and 0.9 blocks per game this year.

His career high in scoring is 23 points, which came against Texas this season in an 81-80 loss in overtime. He also grabbed 14 rebounds in that game. He scored 12 points and pulled down 10 rebounds against #9 Villanova, and had 12 and 11 on the road against SMU.

Lee should be able to provide an immediate impact as a scorer, rebounder and defender, but most importantly he brings a post presence that Ohio State has had to do without since Jared Sullinger left.

Lee, who scored 13.6 points per game and averaged 8.6 rebounds per game this season, is a graduate transfer and will be eligible to play immediately. He has one year of eligibility remaining.
