Jones Reconfirms OSU Commitment
By Rob Ogden
With two letters, Jamarco Jones quelled the fears of thousands.
"O-H," the four-star offensive lineman said late Tuesday night via his Twitter account, just hours before National Signing Day.
The tweet brought relief to nervous Ohio State fans and was a reconfirmation that Jones will be a Buckeye.
Though he had already pledged to Ohio State more than seven months ago, Jones' status had become in question over the past several days and he made an official to Michigan State over the weekend.
But he confirmed Tuesday night to Scout.com that he's sticking with the Buckeyes.
The six-foot-five, 295 pound prospect out of Chicago is considered one of the top offensive tackles in the country and is the fifth offensive lineman in Ohio State's 2014 class. It's an important get for coach Urban Meyer considering the Buckeyes just graduated four starters from their offensive line.
Jones' interest in Michigan State grew after the departure of Ohio State assistant Mike Vrabel, who accepted a position with the Houston Texans last month. Vrabel was the lead recruiter on Jones.
