Ohio State Recruiting: Prep Report

The high school football season is heating up, and so are a few of the Buckeye commitments.
Newest commit Noah Brown got his season off to a blazing start, and Curtis Samuel recorded his first 100-yard rushing game of the year. Parris Campbell continues to score any which way he can, and Stephen Collier has yet to be stopped.
Noah Brown, WR/ATH (Pope John XXIII, Sparta, NJ
Brown and Pope John opened the season with a 43-28 win over Randolph. Brown carried the ball 23 times for 214 yards and three touchdowns. He also caught five passes for 63 yards. Brown returned two kickoffs for 61 yards as well.
Curtis Samuel, ATH (Erasmus Hall, Brooklyn, NY)
Erasmus Hall moved to 2-0 on the season with a 20-0 win over Boys & Girls. Curtis Samuel rushed for 115 yards and two touchdowns. He also had a 45-yard run in the third quarter.

Malik Hooker, ATH (New Castle, New Castle, PA)
New Castle (2-1) got a 37-13 victory over winless Ambridge. Hooker had a rushing touchdown and a handful of tackles in the win.

Demetrius Knox, OL (All Saints, Fort Worth, TX)
All Saints Episcopal (3-0) rolled to another blowout, with a 56-14 win over Greenhill. They have now outscored opponents 190-48.
Jamarco Jones, OL (De La Salle, Chicago, IL)
De La Salle (2-1) fell 55-20 to Providence Catholic (2-1).
Terry McLaurin, WR (Cathedral, Indianapolis, IN)
Cathedral (2-2) won a nailbiter 37-35 over Bishop Chatard (2-2). Terry McLaurin was busy throughout, but he got the scoring started for Cathedral with a 96-yard kickoff return touchdown in the first quarter. He added a pair of touchdown receptions, both from three yards out. He finished with 12 receptions for 73 yards.

Stephen Collier, QB (Lee County, Leesburg, VA)
Collier led his #1 Lee County Trojans (3-0) to a 24-6 win over #2 Westover (1-2). It was the second-straight week Lee County got a win over the #2 team. Collier finished with 256 yards passing, completing 21-45 attempts with three touchdowns. He also rushed for 70 yards.

Jalyn Holmes, DE (Lake Taylor, Norfolk, VA)
Holmes missed the game as he serves a two-game suspension following an unsportsmanlike penalty. He will miss next week's game as well.
Sean Nuernberger, K (Oldham County, Buckner, KY)
Oldham County fell to 1-3 on the season with a 41-21 loss to South Oldham. Nuernberger put four of his six kickoffs into the endzone for touchbacks. He punted three times for 147 yards (49.0), with a long of 53 yards. He hit 3 of 4 field goals, with a long of 41 yards. He missed a 58-yard attempt to the left.

Dante Booker, LB (SVSM, Akron, OH)
SVSM (3-0) got an easy 49-12 win over Woodridge. The Irish led 42-6 in the second quarter. Booker did not record any tackles per the school's website.

Lonnie Johnson, ATH (West Side, Gary, IN)
West Side (1-3) got their first win of the season with a 76-45 shootout win over Riverside-Brookfield. Johnson rushed for an 84-yard touchdown and had four receptions for 91 and an additional touchdown. He also added four two-point conversions, three tackles and a kickoff return for 28 yards.

Kyle Berger, LB (St. Ignatius, Cleveland, OH)
Berger is out for the season with a torn ACL.
Sam Hubbard, ATH (Moeller, Cincinnati, OH)
Moeller (3-0) got a 64-13 win over Toronto St. Michael. Moeller led 43-6 after one quarter, so the starters didn't play very much in this one. Hubbard had one tackle.

Dylan Thompson, DL (Montini Catholic, Lombard, IL)
Montini Catholic moved to 3-0 with a 56-0 shutout of Wheaton. Thompson finished with two tackles and one tackle for loss.

Parris Campbell, ATH (SVSM, Akron, OH)
Campbell carried the ball seven times for 47 yards and two touchdowns in a 49-12 win over Woodridge. He also returned a punt 48 yards for a touchdown. He caught two passes for eight yards.

Kyle Trout, OL (Lancaster, Lancaster, OH)
Lancaster moved to 2-1 with a 37-14 win over Canal Winchester.
Damon Webb, CB (Cass Tech, Detroit, MI)
Cass Tech (3-0) got an easy win over Detroit Renaissance 32-6. Damon Webb snagged his first interception of the season.
Marcelys Jones, OL (Glenville, Cleveland, OH)
Glenville (2-1) got a 32-13 win over Cleveland Heights.
Eric Glover-Williams, 2015 ATH (McKinley, Canton, OH)
McKinley moved to 3-0 on the season with a 26-17 win over Dublin Coffman. Glover-Williams rushed for 162 yards on 29 carries, scoring on runs of eight and six yards. He was also 5-16 passing for 109 yards.
