Ohio State Recruiting: Prep Report

It was another big week for some Buckeye verbal commits, led by Canton McKinley's Eric Glover-Williams and Akron SVSM's Parris Campbell. There were some other stellar performances, however, as Curtis Samuel rushed for another 100 yards, and Stephen Collier found the endzone four more times.

Conference season is starting for many commits, and the games are only going to get bigger from here on out.

Noah Brown, WR/ATH (Pope John XXIII, Sparta, NJ
Brown and Pope John (2-0) got a 68-14 win over High Point. Brown didn't need to play much, but he still scored twice, catching three passes for 33 yards.

[Season Stats: 23 carries, 214 yards rushing, 3 TDs | 8 catches, 96 yards, 2 TDs | 1 PR 2 yards | 2 KO 61 yards]

Curtis Samuel, ATH (Erasmus Hall, Brooklyn, NY)
Erasmus Hall moved to 3-0 on the season with a 42-0 win over Campus Magnet. Samuel rushed for 116 yards and one touchdown on seven carries.

Malik Hooker, ATH (New Castle, New Castle, PA)
New Castle (3-1) got a 32-13 win over Montour. Hooker finished with five receptions for 123 yards and two touchdowns. One touchdown was a 46-yard crossing route, and the other was a 22-yarder in the corner of the endzone.

Demetrius Knox, OL (All Saints, Fort Worth, TX)
All Saints Episcopal (4-0) rolled to another blowout, with a 58-21 win over St. Mark's. Quarterback Foster Sawyer threw for 400 yards and five touchdowns, and also rushed for 51 yards and a sixth touchdown.

Jamarco Jones, OL (De La Salle, Chicago, IL)
De La Salle (3-1) got a 55-28 win over St. Ignatius.

Terry McLaurin, WR (Cathedral, Indianapolis, IN)
Cathedral (2-3) lost a tough one to Cincinnati St. Xavier 15-6. McLaurin scored the lone touchdown for his Cathedral team on a 21-yard reception. He finished with eight carries for 35 yards and two receptions for 21 yards.

[Season Stats: 31 rec 458 yards 6 TDs | 20 carries for 97 yards | 10 KR for 267 yards 1 TD | 4 PR for 34 yards]

Stephen Collier, QB (Lee County, Leesburg, VA)
Collier led his #1 Lee County Trojans (4-0) to a 43-14 win over Morrow. Collier was only 5-14 passing for 84 yards with a touchdown, but he did rush for 128 yards and three touchdowns on 11 carries.

[Season Stats: 52-98 for 854 yards, 10 TDs | 296 yards rushing, 8 TDs]

Jalyn Holmes, DE (Lake Taylor, Norfolk, VA)
Holmes did not play as he served the second game of a two-game suspension.

Sean Nuernberger, K (Oldham County, Buckner, KY)
Oldham County (2-3) got their second win of the season with a 33-0 shutout over North Bullitt. Nuernberger put all six of his kickoffs into the endzone, and averaged 44.5 yards on his four punts. He was 3-4 on extra points.

[Season Stats: 23 punts for 951 yards (41.3 avg), 59 long | FG 5-8, 46 long | PAT 12-13]

Dante Booker, LB (SVSM, Akron, OH)
SVSM (4-0) got 25-0 win over Youngstown Cardinal Mooney. It was their first victory over Mooney since 1988. Booker finished with nine tackles and a tackle for loss. He helped hold Mooney to 0 yards rushing.

[Season Stats: 29 tackles and 5.5 tackles for loss]

Lonnie Johnson, ATH (West Side, Gary, IN)
West Side (2-3) got a 58-18 win over Hammond (1-4). Johnson carried the ball four times for 42 yards and a touchdown. He also had two receptions for 58 yards and a touchdown.

[Season Stats: 25 rec 424 yards 7 TDs | 10 carries 148 yards 2 TD | 18 tackles |1 INT | 1 block | 6 KR 178 yards (29.7) | 1 PR 25 yards]

Kyle Berger, LB (St. Ignatius, Cleveland, OH)
Berger is out for the season with a torn ACL.

Sam Hubbard, ATH (Moeller, Cincinnati, OH)
Moeller (4-0) got a 24-12 win over Louisville St. Xavier. Hubbard had nine tackles and broke up a pair of passes.

Dylan Thompson, DL (Montini Catholic, Lombard, IL)
Montini Catholic moved to 4-0 with a 30-7 win over St. Francis. Thompson finished with three sacks.

[Season Stats: 12 tackles for loss, 8 sacks]

Parris Campbell, ATH (SVSM, Akron, OH)
Campbell carried the ball 15 times for 178 yards and two touchdowns in a 25-0 win over Cardinal Mooney. He had touchdown runs of 12 and 75 yards.

Kyle Trout, OL (Lancaster, Lancaster, OH)
Lancaster dropped to 2-2 with a 27-12 loss to Pickerington Central.

Damon Webb, CB (Cass Tech, Detroit, MI)
Cass Tech (4-0) got an easy win over Detroit Cody 30-6.

Marcelys Jones, OL (Glenville, Cleveland, OH)
Glenville (3-1) got a 34-0 win over Cleveland Rhodes.

Eric Glover-Williams, 2015 ATH (McKinley, Canton, OH)
McKinley moved to 4-0 on the season with a 35-28 win over North Canton Hoover. Glover-Williams accounted for all five of McKinley's touchdowns, throwing two and rushing for three. He finished 8-14 passing for 111 yards with an interception. He carried the ball 18 times for 199 yards, including touchdowns of 24, 65, and 30. Those three touchdowns proved to be the last three of the game, and brought the Bulldogs back from a 28-14 deficit. The winning score came with 58 seconds remaining in the game.
