Ohio State Recruiting: Prep Report

It was a weekend of home runs for Ohio State's exciting play-making commits. There were a number of plays that went over 70 yards, including a 74-yard punt from Sean Nuernberger. Three different Buckeyes had touchdowns of at least 87 yards, with Akron SVSM's Parris Campbell taking home the long-distance honors with a 98-yarder.
Noah Brown, WR/ATH (Pope John XXIII, Sparta, NJ)
Brown and Pope John (5-0) got a 31-27 win over Sparta (4-1). Brown caught five passes for 145 yards and two touchdowns (25, 87). He also ran the ball 10 times for 63 yards.

Curtis Samuel, ATH (Erasmus Hall, Brooklyn, NY)
Erasmus Hall moved to 6-0 on the season with a 34-0 win over Canarsie. Curtis Samuel scored twice, one touchdown coming on an 89-yard run.

Malik Hooker, ATH (New Castle, New Castle, PA)
New Castle (5-2) fell 37-31 to West Allegheny (7-0). Hooker caught six passes for 74 yards.
Demetrius Knox, OL (All Saints, Fort Worth, TX)
All Saints Episcopal (7-0) rolled to another blowout with a 52-3 win over Holland Hall.
Jamarco Jones, OL (De La Salle, Chicago, IL)
De La Salle (5-2) lost a rough one, 48-0 to Loyola Academy.
Terry McLaurin, WR (Cathedral, Indianapolis, IN)
Cathedral (4-4) got a 23-14 win over Tech High School. Due to Terry McLaurin being double covered and roughed up physically, he was moved to tailback and finished with 132 yards on 12 carries. He did not catch a pass. Cathedral plays at Cincinnati Moeller this weekend, which will pit McLaurin against fellow Buckeye commit Sam Hubbard.

Stephen Collier, QB (Lee County, Leesburg, GA)
Lee County (6-0) was off this week.

Jalyn Holmes, DE (Lake Taylor, Norfolk, VA)
Lake Taylor improved to 4-2 on the season with a 55-6 win over Portsmouth Churchland. Holmes did not play in the game due to a health issue. He is expected to eventually return.
Sean Nuernberger, K (Oldham County, Buckner, KY)
Oldham County (2-5) fell to Fern Creek 35-13. Nuernberger punted five times for a 46.4-yard average, with a long of 74. He was 1-1 on PATs and 2-2 on field goals, with a long of 32 yards.

Dante Booker, LB (SVSM, Akron, OH)
SVSM (7-0) got a 41-12 win over Thurgood Marshall. Booker finished with 13 tackles, and 1 tackle for loss.

Lonnie Johnson, ATH (West Side, Gary, IN)
West Side (4-4) got an 82-20 win over Lew Wallace. Lonnie Johnson carried the ball twice for 23 yards and a touchdown, and also caught five passes for 152 yards and three more touchdowns (41, 39, 27).

Kyle Berger, LB (St. Ignatius, Cleveland, OH)
Berger is out for the season with a torn ACL.
Sam Hubbard, ATH (Moeller, Cincinnati, OH)
Moeller (6-0) got a 35-14 win over Cincinnati Elder. Sam Hubbard came up with an interception in the victory.

Dylan Thompson, DL (Montini Catholic, Lombard, IL)
Montini Catholic moved to 7-0 with a 40-35 win over Marian Central Catholic. Thompson recorded two tackles and blocked a punt.

Parris Campbell, ATH (SVSM, Akron, OH)
Campbell carried the ball seven times for 203 yards in a 41-12 win over Thurgood Marshall. He scored on runs of 98, 50 and 44 yards.

Kyle Trout, OL (Lancaster, Lancaster, OH)
Lancaster moved to 4-3 with a 22-19 win over Gahanna Lincoln. Lancaster scored the game's final 15 points to come from behind for the victory.
Damon Webb, CB (Cass Tech, Detroit, MI)
Cass Tech (7-0) got an easy win over Detroit Mumford 41-6. Webb snagged an interception with Ohio State cornerbacks coach Kerry Coombs in attendance.
Marcelys Jones, OL (Glenville, Cleveland, OH)
Glenville (6-1) got a 56-0 win over John Marshall.
Eric Glover-Williams, 2015 ATH (McKinley, Canton, OH)
McKinley moved to 7-0 on the season by stealing a 13-10 victory away from Canton GlenOak. McKinley got a 95-yard fumble return for a touchdown with 3:09 to play in the fourth quarter to make it 10-7 GlenOak, then scored with a fake field goal from 16 yards out to get the win with no time remaining. Glover-Williams was hampered with an ankle injury. He carried the ball 12 times for a loss of two yards, and completed 10-22 passes for 62 yards an an interception.
