Ohio State Recruiting: Prep Report

For those fortunate enough, the playoffs are now fully underway, though for an unlucky few, they came quickly to an end. Curtis Samuel signed his mid-year agreement with Ohio State, and followed that up with a solid performance this past weekend. Elsewhere, Quarterback Stephen Collier capped the regular season with a five-touchdown performance.

Noah Brown, WR/ATH (Pope John XXIII, Sparta, NJ)
Noah Brown and Pope John (8-1) suffered their first defeat of the season, a 21-16 loss to Delbarton. Brown caught four passes for 25 yards, including a touchdown. He also had a 51-yard kickoff return.

[Season Stats: 37 carries, 345 yards rushing, 5 TDs | 35 catches, 733 yards, 12 TDs]

Curtis Samuel, ATH (Erasmus Hall, Brooklyn, NY)
Erasmus Hall (9-1) beat Campus Magnet (21-6). Samuel returned a kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown. He also had a 73-yard rush for the final score of the game. On that drive, he carried the ball three times for 94 yards.

Malik Hooker, ATH (New Castle, New Castle, PA)
Malik Hooker's season is over.

Demetrius Knox, OL (All Saints, Fort Worth, TX)
All Saints Episcopal (11-0) rolled to another blowout with a 42-7 over Houston Christian. All Saints put up 474 yards of total offense.

Jamarco Jones, OL (De La Salle, Chicago, IL)
De La Salle (6-5) lost 27-7 to Lake Forest, ending their 2013 season.

Terry McLaurin, WR (Cathedral, Indianapolis, IN)
Cathedral (7-5) defeated Anderson 56-13. Terry McLaurin caught a 38-yard pass in the blowout per Scout.com.

[Season Stats: 45 rec 712 yards 7 TDs | 66 carries for 636 yards | 15 KR for 445 yards 2 TD | 7 PR for 68 yards]

Stephen Collier, QB (Lee County, Leesburg, GA)
Lee County (9-1) got a 38-14 win over Bainbridge to end their regular season. Stephen Collier threw for four touchdowns and rushed for another.

Jalyn Holmes, DE (Lake Taylor, Norfolk, VA)
Lake Taylor improved to 8-2 on the season with a 14-0 win over Granby.

Sean Nuernberger, K (Oldham County, Buckner, KY)
Oldham County (2-9) ended their season with a 48-0 loss to Louisville Male.

[Season Stats: 43 punts for 1,823 yards (42.4 avg), 74 long | FG 10-16, 57 long | PAT 21-23]

Dante Booker, LB (SVSM, Akron, OH)
SVSM (11-0) got a 52-7 win over Kenston in the first round of the playoffs. Dante Booker had six tackles, two tackles for loss and two interceptions, including one that he returned 21 yards for a touchdown.

[Season Stats: 84 tackles, 19.5 tackles for loss, 3 sacks, 2 INTs]

Kyle Berger, LB (St. Ignatius, Cleveland, OH)
Berger is out for the season with a torn ACL.

Sam Hubbard, ATH (Moeller, Cincinnati, OH)
Moeller (9-1) got a 42-17 playoff win over St. Xavier. Sam Hubbard finished with five tackles and three interceptions.

[Season Stats: 71 tackles, 3 TFL, 4 INT, 1 FF, 1 blocked XP]

Dylan Thompson, DL (Montini Catholic, Lombard, IL)
Montini Catholic moved to 11-0 with a 40-7 win over Marian Central Catholic.

[Season Stats: 19 tackles for loss, 10 sacks]

Parris Campbell, ATH (SVSM, Akron, OH)
Campbell carried the ball 11 times for 105 yards in a 52-7 win over Kenston. He scored on runs of 18, 6 and 4 yards. He also caught a 28-yard touchdown pass..

[Season Stats: 109 carries 1,074 yards 17 TD | 7 rec 74 yards 1 TD | 2 PR TD | 2 KR TD | 1 INT TD]

Kyle Trout, OL (Lancaster, Lancaster, OH)
Lancaster (5-5) ended their season.

Damon Webb, CB (Cass Tech, Detroit, MI)
Cass Tech moved to 11-0 and won a district championship with a 28-19 win over Warren Mott.

Marcelys Jones, OL (Glenville, Cleveland, OH)
Glenville (10-1) got a 35-0 win over Lyndhurst Brush in the first round of the OHSAA playoffs.

Eric Glover-Williams, 2015 ATH (McKinley, Canton, OH)
McKinley's season came to an end with a 38-14 loss to Cleveland St. Ignatius in the first round of the playoffs. Eric Glover-Williams caught a 60-yard touchdown pass and also ran for a 28-yard touchdown. Glover-Williams ran the ball 13 times for 68 yards, was 1-4 passing for seven yards and caught three passes for 70 yards.
