Ohio State Recruiting: Prep Report

The playoffs are in full swing, save for those unfortunate Buckeye commits who have swung and missed. Akron SVSM rolled again, and it's beginning to look like they could have zero challengers this season. Quarterback Stephen Collier continues to lead his team to victories, and defensive lineman Dylan Thompson literally led his team to a win this past weekend.
Noah Brown, WR/ATH (Pope John XXIII, Sparta, NJ)
Brown and Pope John moved to 9-1 on the season following a 53-0 win in the first round of the playoffs. Brown had one catch for five yards.

Curtis Samuel, ATH (Erasmus Hall, Brooklyn, NY)
Erasmus Hall (10-1) beat Bronx JFK 38-6. Samuel scored a touchdown in the game.
Malik Hooker, ATH (New Castle, New Castle, PA)
Malik Hooker's season is over.
Demetrius Knox, OL (All Saints, Fort Worth, TX)
Knox's season is over.
Jamarco Jones, OL (De La Salle, Chicago, IL)
Jones' season is now over.
Terry McLaurin, WR (Cathedral, Indianapolis, IN)
Cathedral (8-5) defeated Whiteland 56-28 in the regionals. McLaurin caught three passes for 69 yards (long of 39), and carried the ball five times for 20 yards.

Stephen Collier, QB (Lee County, Leesburg, GA)
Lee County (10-1) got a 28-6 win over Effingham County in the playoffs. Collier rushed for 165 yards and two touchdowns, including 73 yards in the fourth quarter alone. He was also 14-34 passing for 201 yards.
Jalyn Holmes, DE (Lake Taylor, Norfolk, VA)
Lake Taylor improved to 9-2 on the season with a 35-7 win over Nansemond River in the first round of the playoffs. Holmes finished with five sacks.
Sean Nuernberger, K (Oldham County, Buckner, KY)
Nuernberger's season is now over.

Dante Booker, LB (SVSM, Akron, OH)
SVSM (12-0) got a 35-7 win over Poland in the second round of the playoffs. Dante Booker had four tackles.

Kyle Berger, LB (St. Ignatius, Cleveland, OH)
Berger is out for the season with a torn ACL.
Sam Hubbard, ATH (Moeller, Cincinnati, OH)
Moeller (10-1) got a 24-0 playoff win over Elder. For the second week in a row, Sam Hubbard recorded an interception.

Dylan Thompson, DL (Montini Catholic, Lombard, IL)
Montini Catholic moved to 12-0 with a 22-21 quarterfinal win over Joliet Catholic. Montini Catholic made it 21-20 with a touchdown with just over four minutes on the clock, and elected to go for the two-point conversion and the win. Dylan Thompson came in to be an extra tackle, and he opened the game-winning hole. Per the Chicago Tribune, Thompson demanded that they go with that formation and play call. "Coach, put this behind me," Thompson said in the huddle. "I will get him in that end zone."

Parris Campbell, ATH (SVSM, Akron, OH)
Campbell carried the ball 17 times for 117 yards in a 35-7 win over Poland. He scored on a run of 17 yards.

Kyle Trout, OL (Lancaster, Lancaster, OH)
Lancaster (5-5) ended their season.
Damon Webb, CB (Cass Tech, Detroit, MI)
Cass Tech moved to 12-0 and won a regional championship with a 32-17 win over McComb Dakota. Webb had an interception in the game.
Marcelys Jones, OL (Glenville, Cleveland, OH)
Glenville (11-1) got a 26-12 win over Bedford in the second round of the OHSAA playoffs.
Eric Glover-Williams, 2015 ATH (McKinley, Canton, OH)
Glover-Williams' season is over.
