Football Recruiting
No Need to Visit the Texas Capital for Austin Clark
By Michael Chung

Everyone knew that 2014 would be a big year to recruit the OL but one year does not quench a drought. With four OL graduating on this year’s team, securing the OL for 2014 is not the only solution. OSU also needs a solid OL haul in 2015 to replenish depth and have already made eleven offers at the OL position and will make many more by the time the 2015 recruiting season kicks into high gear.

One player that will likely garner an offer in the near future is Virginia OL Austin Clark. At 6’6” 285 lbs. Clark has the physical tools to become a dominant offensive lineman. Ohio State has already plucked DE Jalyn Holmes from the great state of Virginia this year and is in hot pursuit of top tier DL Tim Settle, also a Virginian, for 2015. Clark could be part of a new state pipeline to Ohio and do not be surprised if Urban Meyer begins priming the pump with an offer to Clark. Austin already has offers from schools like Penn State, Duke, Maryland, North Carolina, Rutgers, Tennessee, Virginia, and Virginia Tech. Will the Buckeyes offer soon and become part of this list? He took time to update the-Ozone readers on his recruitment.

The-Ozone: Do you have an OSU offer? I haven't received an offer yet but I've been talking to the coaches a lot.

The-Ozone: Do you have a leader or a top 5? Which offers are standing out? I really don't have any favorites right now.

The-Ozone: Which coaching staffs are you closest to or have the best relationship with? I have been talking to Tennessee, Penn State, and Virginia Tech a lot.

The-Ozone: What have the OSU coaches talked to you about? They told me they really liked my film and they'd stay in touch.

The-Ozone: What is your best position? Could you play DL and is anyone recruiting you as a DL?

I am being recruited as OL that is where most of my strengths lie.

The-Ozone: How important is it for you to be close to home? Being close to home isn't really a big concern for me.

The-Ozone: What are the factors you are looking for in a college? I want to go somewhere I can get a good education and play big time football.

The-Ozone: Can you also tell me about your visit to Ohio State? What did you do and whom did you talk too? I got to see the stadium and see coach Meyer shake the hands of the players before the game. I talked to coach Warriner, he said that he liked my film and wanted me to stay in touch.

The-Ozone: How often do you talk to Warinner? I talk to him through Facebook, but I mostly talk to coach Smith
