2015 Class Will Have a Florida Superstar
By Michael Chung
With 2014 recriting in its home stretch, the Buckeyes have wasted little time to begin filling out their 2015 class. Eric Glover-Williams out of Canton McKinley high school in Ohio was number one and now Cocoa, Florida’s Jamel Dean becomes number two.
Urban Meyer likes physical “freaks”. At 6-1, Dean is a bit tall for CB while reportedly running a sub 4.5 forty.
Dean possesses the physical tools to be a dominant CB and the frame to grow into a hard hitting safety. Dean had offers from schools like Florida, Miami, Mississippi State, and Temple but chose to leave his home state of Florida to come up north to play for Urban Meyer.
Florida has already produced NFL Buckeye cornerbacks Chris Gamble and Chimdi Chekwa.
Dean is rated a four-star prospect by 247Sports as well as a four-star composite score from 247. He has a three-star rating from Scout.
Ohio State has had a Florida recruit in every class since 2003 and in eleven of their last twelve classes. In the 2014 class OSU is still in hot pursuit of WR Johnnie Dixon. Should he commit, the streak would continue untill at least 2016.
