One of Nation's Fastest-Rising LBs Has OSU on Top
By Tony Gerdeman

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Four-star 2015 linebacker Sh'mar Kilby-Lane (6-2 215) named Ohio State his leader in an interview with 247Sports' Ryan Bartow on Sunday.

Kilby-Lane, out of Hallandale, Florida was participating in the Miami Nike Football Training Camp this past weekend where he revealed his top three of Ohio State, Florida State and Alabama.

All three schools have offered Kilby-Lane, who is ranked the #5 outside linebacker in the nation per 247Sports. Rivals ranks him the #25 outside linebacker and Scout has him at #14.

A month ago Florida State was named his leader, but Ohio State was also right in there as well. Expect both schools to be in it for quite a while.

Kilby-Lane finished with 115 tackles last season, but has been under the radar until the last few months. He can certainly be expected to shoot up the various charts as each new ranking rolls out, however.

Along with offers from Ohio State, Florida State and Alabama, there are also offers from Clemson, LSU, Florida and Tennessee.

Kilby-Lane is expected to make a visit to Columbus for the Ohio State Spring Game on April 12, but that won't be his only visit next month.

"I'm pretty much going to see Ohio State, then right back after that Alabama," he told 247Sports. In the summer he plans to visit Auburn, Clemson and Georgia.

As a fan of Ohio State growing up, what is he hoping to see when he visits OSU next month?

"I hope to see things that I originally dreamed of in high school," he said. "To see the program and how the community is and how I'd adapt to that."

Kilby-Lane is one of the Buckeyes' top targets at linebacker, and it's been that way since they offered him back in November, which was well before programs like Miami, Florida and Alabama jumped in.

On Wednesday he accepted an invitation to play in the 2015 Army All-American Bowl.

"That means I have accomplished my goals," he said of the invite.

"I've stood out, rising higher and I'm getting ready for my senior year. Prepare and get ready for college. What that means to me, that means I'm doing a good job."

When might a decision come? Good question. He has stated that it could happen during his football season, and he has also stated that it would be a Signing Day decision.

Regardless of when it will happen, the Ohio State coaches appear willing to wait for him.
