Buckeye Defensive Line Takes Big Jump From Week One to Week Two

Spring’s Unanswered Questions for the Ohio State Defensive Ends
Every year following Ohio State spring football we recap what happened position by position. Who stepped up, who stepped back, what got fixed, and what didn’t? With 12 of the 15 spring practices cancelled due to the pandemic, however, essentially nothing happened, nothing got fixed, nobody stepped up, and no questions got answered.

How Will Ohio State Replace… DE Chase Young
Young was a 5-star prospect out of Maryland who was ranked as the No. 7 player overall in the 2017 class and the No. 2 weakside defensive end in the nation. (Who was No. 1, you ask? Robert Landers, Tyreke Smith, Jonathon Cooper All Out This Week
Robert Landers and Tyreke Smith will not play in Saturday’s game against Miami (OH) according to the Ohio State availability report that was just released. Landers, the fifth-year senior nose tackle who started 11 games last year, has split reps with classmate Davon Hamilton over the last two seasons. Landers spoke with the media on Tuesday prior to practice this week, so he was…

Tyreke Smith ‘More of a Force’ After Return From Injury
Sophomore defensive end Tyreke Smith is expected to have a big impact on the Buckeye defense this season. But getting to this point required him to overcome and take care of injury that he had been dealing with since high school.
