He is a native of St. Louis who moved to Upper Arlington when he was nine years old and graduated from UA High School in 2007. After a brief stint at Denison University, where he wrote for The Denisonian Sports section, Patrick transferred to the Ohio State University at the start of his sophomore year. He graduated from OSU in the winter of 2012 with a degree in English.

Patrick covered both football and men’s basketball as a student writer for The Lantern and he also covered the Cleveland Cavaliers for SportsMedia101.com. His real passion, however, is in soccer. He has played the Beautiful Game most of his life, including competitively at the high school level and now in Columbus adult leagues.

Crowell, who has had two surgeries while at Ohio State for a previous injury that occurred while in high school, will not be medically cleared to play by the OSU medical staff. O’Connor, who red-shirted the 2012 season, has requested a transfer to be closer to home."
