2016 Season (Junior): Chicago Tribune Silver Football Award winner … First Team All-Big Ten and Griese-Brees Big Ten Quarterback of the Year … directed the Buckeyes to an 11-1 record and a spot in the 2016 College Football Playoff, including three wins over teams in a New Year’s Six bowl (Michigan, Wisconsin, Oklahoma) … led the Buckeyes with 3,275 yards of total offense (2,428 pass, 847 rush), completing 214 of his 346 passes and only five interceptions … led the Big Ten in points responsible for (33 TDs, 198 points, 16.5 ppg) and was second with 24 TD passes during the regular season … also finished the regular season ranked third in total offense (272.9 ypg) and completion percentage (.620) and fourth in passer rating (140.8) while becoming Ohio State’s all-time leader in TD passes (69) and TDs responsible for (100) in the process … rushed for … threw for a career-high 349 yards and tied his school record with six TD passes in the 77-10 season-opening win over Bowling Green; set an Ohio State record with seven TDs accounted for (6 passing, 1 rushing) and helped Ohio State set a school record with 776 yards of total offense against the Falcons … named Big Ten offensive player of the week for his efforts vs. BGSU … tossed four TD passes, all to Noah Brown, in the win at No. 14 Oklahoma … added another four TD passes on 21-of-29 passing for 238 yards and rushed for 46 yards in just over three quarters of play vs. Rutgers … rushed for 137 yards and a score in the win over Indiana … totaled 318 yards of offense (92 rush, 226 pass) in the win at No. 8 Wisconsin, rushing for two TDs and passing for another to earn Maxwell and Big Ten co-offensive POW honors … threw for 245 yards and a TD and added 26 on the ground at Penn State … tossed four more TD passes while throwing for 290 yards in the win over No. 10 Nebraska … accounted for 4 more TDs (2 rushing, 2 passing) while totaling 300 yards of total offense in the win at Maryland … rushed for 105 yards in the win at Michigan State and 30 times for 125 yards in the double-overtime win over No. 3 Michigan; also threw for 124 yards against the Wolverines.

2015 Season (Sophomore): Barrett was the backup to Cardale Jones for the first seven games of the season before working his way back into the starting lineup for game No. 8 of the season vs. Rutgers … Barrett’s effectiveness leading the Buckeyes in the red zone in the two games preceding his Rutgers start – he drove the team to nine scores, eight of them touchdowns, in nine opportunities vs. Maryland and Penn State – led to his start against the Scarlet Knights … he accounted for five touchdowns in the 49-7 win against Rutgers while rushing for 101 yards and two touchdowns and passing for 223 yards and three more scores … he accounted for 20 touchdowns the final seven games of the season to help the Buckeyes at 12-1 on the season … included was leading the team to a 42-13 win at Michigan with 139 rushing yards and three touchdowns plus one touchdown pass … even with only four starts in Big Ten games, Barrett led the league (conference-games only) in scoring and TD scoring (11.0 points per game) and also in passing efficiency (162.6).

2014 Season (Freshman): Barrett earned the back-up quarterback role during fall camp and two days later was elevated to No. 1 signal caller when two-time Big Ten player and quarterback of the year Braxton Miller re-injured his shoulder and was lost for the season … Barrett was outstanding in relief of Miller … he went 11-1 as the starting quarterback, including an 8-0 record in Big Ten starts to position the Buckeyes into the Big Ten championship game for the second year in a row … before breaking an ankle against Michigan on the first play of the fourth quarter with the Buckeyes leading 28-21, Barrett had set 19 school records — two Big Ten and 17 Ohio State — and had put together such an outstanding season — a school-record 3,772 total yards including 2,834 passing yards and 938 rushing yards; a Big Ten record 45 total touchdowns — that he would be named the Big Ten’s Griese-Brees Quarterback of the Year, its Thompson-Randle El Freshman of the Year and its first-team all-conference quarterback at the conclusion of the season … finished fifth in the 2014 Heisman Trophy voting and was a second-team All-American by The Sporting News … named a freshman All-American by USA Today, Athlon’s and Scout.com and was a finalist for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award as the best offensive player from the state of Texas … set a Big Ten record by being named conference freshman of the week seven times … was named a player of the week by the Big Ten or a national/regional entity 17 times (Big Ten freshman of the week seven times; Big Ten offensive player of the week three times; Maxwell Club national player, Athlon’s national player and freshman — twice, and Earl Campbell Tyler Rose national player of the week — twice) … he tied a school record with six touchdown passes vs. Kent State while connecting with a 25-year Ohio State best 11 different receivers … had the second-most offensive yards in school history — 409 — vs. Cincinnati, including a personal best 330 yards passing and five touchdowns responsible for … in white-out conditions at Penn State, Barrett rushed for two overtime touchdowns and played entire second half on a sprained MCL to lead the Buckeyes to the win … threw for 300 yards, rushed for 86 and accounted for five touchdowns in road win at Michigan State and the Spartans’ No. 5-ranked total defense … came just 11 yards from a near-historic 200-yard rushing and 200-yard passing game vs. Minnesota with school-quarterback records of 189 rushing yards and an 86-yard touchdown rush, part of the 389-yard day … staked the Buckeyes to a 28-21 lead entering the fourth quarter vs. Michigan with 131 passing yards, 89 rushing yards and three total touchdowns before his injury … elected to forego the hospital visit right after breaking his ankle; instead opting to watch the rest of the game from the stands, in uniform and with fans’ in absolute awe that he was sitting among them … completed at least 70 percent of his passes in five games and at least 60 percent of his passes in 11 of his 12 starts … finished 2nd nationally to Marcus Mariota in passing efficiency (169.8 rating) and was 10th nationally in total offense (314.3 yards per game) while leading the Big Ten in both categories … also finished second in the Big Ten in passing yards per game (236.2) and ninth in rushing (78.2).
