A Tradition Unlike Any Other: Ohio State Camp Check-In Photos

Monday evening on a steamy summer evening in Columbus, one of the most sacred rituals in all of Ohio State football took place. A few dozen reporters and photographers lined both sides of the entrance to a hotel near the OSU campus, and then took photos of Buckeye football players as they walked in. The players were there to check in to the hotel, where they will stay for the duration of fall camp.  The reporters and photographers were there to document this important moment in the Buckeye football calendar. This is, objectively speaking, more than a little weird…

Ohio State just released new information about the group investigating the situation involving Urban Meyer and former wide receivers coach Zach Smith. The release says the group has already met and hired a team to help with the investigation. That group will be headed by the former Chair of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Ohio State Fall Practice 2 2017

5 Things To Watch For On The Ohio State Offense

Ohio State held its third practice of the fall on Sunday, although like the first two, it was still closed to the media. The team has a day off on Monday, and will be back at it Tuesday. The school has said that it will have an update sometime on Monday about when practices may reopen to reporters. However, the first game is now less than four weeks away, so there’s not much time for the team – and everyone else – to figure out the answers to a few big questions about this year’s Buckeyes…

Former Buckeye Assistants React To Smith Scandal

A pair of former Ohio State assistants who are now head coaches elsewhere have shared their thoughts on the latest developments in the Zach Smith story. Chris Ash and Tom Herman worked together for one season, alongside Zach Smith in 2014. It was the last of Herman’s three years in Columbus and the first of Ash’s two seasons with the Buckeyes. Ash is now the head coach of Rutgers, while Herman is at Texas…

The 10 Worst Games On The 2018 College Football Schedule

Last year, we previewed both the 10 best and 10 worst games. However, we just finished a countdown of the 100 best games (among other things), so you can find all the good stuff there. Here are the top 10, if you’re interested: 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1. That means we can just skip straight to the stupidity, which is how I always prefer to operate. There is a good, solid seven months of the year when any of these games would seem like an oasis in the desert…

Courtney Smith On Abuse Allegations And What Urban Meyer Knew

Courtney Smith, the ex-wife of former Ohio State wide receivers coach Zach Smith, conducted a sit-down interview with the Stadium network. Courtney Smith said that she approached both her parents and Zach Smith’s parents for help after incidents of physical abuse. “I was scared. I did tell my parents. I told (Zach Smith’s) parents as well. I remember specifically texting pictures to my mom, my dad, his dad, begging for help,” Courtney Smith said. “This has to stop, this isn’t normal. I can’t do this any more. I was told ‘don’t call the police. If you call the police, he’s going to get arrested, it’s going to go to the media, he’s going to lose his job.'”

New Report Says Urban Meyer Knew About 2015 Zach Smith Allegations

A new report from Brett McMurphy says that text messages from 2015 show that Urban Meyer was aware of domestic violence allegations against then-wide receivers coach Zach Smith at the time. That would contradict what Meyer told reporters last week. At Big Ten Media Days on July 24, Meyer said, “I was never told about anything. Never anything came to light, never had a conversation about it. So I know nothing about it. I asked people back at the office to call and see what happened, and they came back and said they know nothing.”
