COLUMBUS, Ohio – Pete Hanson’s historic 35-year tenure as Buckeye men’s volleyball head coach has come to an end. The Ohio State Athletics Hall of Famer (’17) is retiring with over four decades of collegiate volleyball coaching experience and an indelible impact on NCAA Volleyball, USA Volleyball and the OSU Athletics Department.
Let’s start off by recapping the end of the season for the Ohio State Wrestling team. After a successful season, Ohio State had a rough ending by going 0-3 in National Title matches. Joey McKenna (141) lost in OT on a very questionable takedown. Head coach Tom Ryan was very disappointed in the call, stating it cost McKenna a national title.
Mason Jobst scored in double-overtime, giving Ohio State men’s hockey a 4-3 win over Michigan and the program’s first Big Ten regular season championship.
