Every year, new Buckeyes emerge and climb the depth charts of the Ohio State offense and defense. It is a necessary progression which then allows the program to replace departed stars and reestablish any loss of depth. Spring football is significant portion of that player development and progression, and it always provides a few glimpses...

Yeah, the TE is going to get the ball more this year. Been hearing that since 2000. Sooner or later recruits are going to see that, no matter the coach, OSU will never be TEU and go elsewhere.

And yet, since 2000, highly ranked TEs continue to come to OSU. They know that in the NFL, there are only 3 or 4 Gronk or Tony Gonzalez type TEs, but dozens and dozens of blocking TEs that can also run solid routes and catch passes.

Still had 2 starters at the position in the NFL last year. That’ll attract recruits far more than lack of use will deter them. Silver lining: just like last year at qb, all the tight end single season and career records at tOSU are just waiting to be crushed.
