Junior Micah Potter Transferring From Ohio State

Ohio State junior forward Micah Potter has decided to transfer. The university announced the news in a release on Monday.

“We appreciate Micah’s contributions to our program and we wish him the very best moving forward,” head coach Chris Holtmann said in the release.

Potter appeared in 59 games with 16 starts during his career. He averaged 4.1 points and 2.8 rebounds while shooting 46 percent from the field.

In last week’s exhibition game against UNC Pembroke, Potter led the team with 13 points, but saw just 10 minutes of action. Freshman post player Jaedon LeDee played 15 minutes, scoring nine points and grabbing seven rebounds.

Potter was expected to come off the bench for the Buckeyes this season, and he would have been doing it behind sophomore Kaleb Wesson, who expects to play about 30 minutes per game this season.

Rather than accept 10-15 minutes per night, Potter will leave OSU in search of a team with more minutes available for him next season.

The move comes just 50 hours before the Buckeyes take the court in the season opener on the road at the University of Cincinnati.
