Former Buckeye Torrance Gibson Leaves His JUCO Team

Torrance Gibson Cardale Jones

Torrance Gibson is on the move again — or at least no longer on his current team.

After redshirting as a true freshman at Ohio State in 2015 and then serving a one-year suspension in 2016, Gibson left OSU with the intention of eventually playing quarterback for Luke Fickell at the University of Cincinnati. That never happened, and instead Gibson matriculated to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.

According to the Biloxi Sun Herald, Gibson is still enrolled at MGCCC, but is no longer part of the team. Mississippi Gulf Coast has confirmed the news as well.

Gibson played in five games this season, passing for 542 yards with four touchdowns and three interceptions. He also rushed for 321 yards.

One of the highest-rated recruits in the 2015 class, Gibson began his career at Ohio State as a quarterback, but was moved to receiver early in fall camp. He never played a down at Ohio State.
