Ohio State’s 2018 offense added another huge piece on Thursday when WR Parris Campbell announced that he would return for another season with the Buckeyes.
Campbell tweeted “After a lot of thinking and praying… Buckeye Nation…” and then a video that just said “1 more.”
He caught 39 passes for 573 yards and 3 touchdowns, and added another 132 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
Campbell started the year with a bang, putting up a career-high 136 receiving yards in the season opener at Indiana, and scored a 57-yard touchdown in the Big Ten Championship Game win over Wisconsin.
However, Campbell was slowed by injuries, missing the loss to Iowa, and playing only sparingly in several other games.
The return of Campbell, one of the fastest players on the Ohio State team, gives the Buckeyes and their new starting quarterback a legitimate deep threat in the passing game.
Campbell joins RB Mike Weber in returning for another year. The Buckeyes are still awaiting announcements on decisions by other draft-eligible players such as DT Dre’mont Jones and WR Johnnie Dixon.
The deadline for underclassmen to file for the NFL Draft is Monday, January 15.
