On the same day the Buckeyes received a verbal commitment from 4-star running back Sampson James, Ohio State offered 5-star Miami (South Dade) wide receiver Frank Ladson. Ladson tweeted out the news.

Ladson (6-4 170) is the No. 3 receiver in the 2019 class per the 247Sports Composite and the No. 15 prospect overall.
Ohio State’s offer joins a long list with Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Florida State and many others.
Ladson hopes to commit prior to his senior season, so he could take official visits this spring. He plans to enroll early at the school of his choice. Currently, the teams he is planning on visiting are Clemson, Miami, and Alabama. If the Buckeyes want to get involved here, Ladson will need to make a visit.
Ladson committed to Florida last March, but decommitted this past December. He has since visited both Clemson and Miami unofficially.
With a frame similar to that of current Ohio State receiver Binjimen Victor when he was in high school, Frank Ladson present a target with a wide catch radius. He has a long stride and possesses the speed to get deep. Ladson does a great job of tracking the ball in flight, even when he is being grabbed and harassed by a defender.
As you would expect, Ladson is also a talented weapon in the red zone. Defenders have a tough time matching his reach when he is jumping.
After making the top group for the No. 1 receiver in California, the Buckeyes also wouldn’t mind the same level of interest for the top receiver in the state of Florida.
Ohio State doesn’t yet have a commitment from a wide receiver in the 2019 class, but they are heavily involved with a number of Top 100 prospects. It is only a matter of time until they have somebody to join running back Sampson James in the skill position department.
