Four-star Texas (Fort Bend Bush/Richmond TX) cornerback Erick Young released his top three schools on Tuesday, and the Buckeyes were included on his list along with Oklahoma and USC.

Young (6-0 206) is the No. 12 cornerback in the 247Sports Composite and the No. 105 prospect overall in the 2019 class. Rivals sees Young as the No. 4 cornerback and the No. 29 prospect in the nation.
Texas has been good to the Buckeyes in the past, especially at cornerback where this year Ohio State will start a pair of Lonestar State natives in Kendall Sheffield and Jeff Okudah.
Young released his top six schools back in April, including the three teams above, along with Alabama, TCU, and Texas A&M.
Interestingly, even though Young didn’t include Texas A&M in his final three, his Crystal Ball is 100% Texas A&M with 17 predictions submitted.
A discrepancy like this could lead one to believe that Young is just having some fun with his top three. Or he was having fun leading people to believe the Aggies were out in front. Either way, we’ll know on Wednesday.
[Update — Weds, 4:00pm — Young committed to Texas A&M]
In his highlights below, Young plays in a fairly aggressive man coverage scheme. He is safety sized with cornerback hips and gets his hands on receivers immediately. Every aspect of his game would fit in just fine with what Ohio State looks for in their corners.
The Buckeyes have one cornerback committed so far in the 2019 class in Jordan Battle out of St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. They will be looking to add one or two more in this recruiting cycle.
