Former Ohio State left tackle Jamarco Jones was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in fifth round of the NFL Draft.

Jones was chosen with the 168th pick overall. He became the seventh Buckeye selected in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Jones graduated with his degree in family resource management in December 2017, doing so in fewer than four years.

His work in the classroom mirrored his work on the field, where he was a leader along the offensive line and a two-year starter who played in 50 games and started 27 consecutive games at left tackle as a junior and senior.

An all-conference honoree twice, Jones helped Ohio State win six championships during his career: a CFP national championship in 2014 when he played in 10 games, a 2014 Sugar Bowl title, a 2015 Fiesta Bowl title, a 2017 Cotton Bowl title and Big Ten Conference championships in 2014 and 2017.

His play also helped the Buckeyes rank among the Top 20 rushing teams in the nation four consecutive years, including 11th in 2016 at 245.2 yards per game and 17th in 2017 at 243.2 yards per game. The Buckeyes led the Big Ten in rushing both years.

In 2016 the line was one of three units nationally selected as a finalist for the Joe Moore Offensive Line of the Year Award.

Overall Rank: No. 96
Position Rank: No. 8 Offensive Tackle

A long and athletic tackle that really struggled at the Combine, Jones has the look of a tackle who can provide depth early in his career with his toughness and strength before stepping into a starter role.

PROJECTIONS

One-Year Projection: Jones will serve as the backup to both tackles. His skill set is best suited for a Zone blocking scheme with a quick passing game.

Three-Year Projection: Starter you can win with due to his toughness and play strength. Always looking for the opposite color which helps create throwing lanes or spring a long run.
