COLUMBUS — For the first time in weeks, Ohio State has been able to announce Players of the Game and Champions following a Saturday win. This week, those Players of the Game are the entire offensive line, safety Brendon White on defense, and linebacker Keandre Jones on special teams.
Jones blocked a first-quarter punt which led to a safety for the Buckeyes.
The Ohio State offensive line paved the way for 229 yards rushing on 40 attempts. That included a combined 254 yards rushing on 32 carries by running backs Mike Weber and J.K. Dobbins. Dobbins, who rushed for a season-high 163 yards on 23 carries and a career-high three touchdowns, was also named a Champion.
Joining Dobbins as offensive Champions were tight end Luke Farrell, and receivers Johnnie Dixon and Parris Campbell.
Defensively, Brendon White came off the bench to lead Ohio State with 13 tackles and two tackles for loss.
The rest of the Champions on defense were defensive linemen Dre’Mont Jones, Jonathon Cooper, and Jashon Cornell, linebacker Tuf Borland, and cornerback Damon Arnette.
Borland pitched in with eight tackles, while Jones added five tackles and a sack.
Of note, linebacker Malik Harrison finished with 13 tackles, yet did not grade out as a Champion.
