Redshirt sophomore quarterback Dwayne Hasksins has been rewriting the OSU football record book all season. Now, he just added a big one to his growing list of school records.
Haskins surpassed Joe Germaine’s single-season passing record of 3,330 from 1998.
Haskins hit wide receiver Terry McLaurin on a 68-yard bomb down the right sideline to set the mark.
He already holds the single-season OSU records for passing completions and attempts, and is closing in on the touchdowns record as well.
J.T. Barrett’s 35 touchdown passes in 2017 is the record for the moment.
Haskins came into the Maryland game needing 51 yards and three touchdowns to break those records.
The crazy thing is not that Haskins set those records, but that he still could play as many as four more games this season.
At the very least, he’ll have another regular season game and a bowl game to extend his lead in those categories.
If the Buckeyes can earn a spot in the Big Ten Championship Game and potentially the College Football Playoff, Haskins could have almost another third of a season to seemingly put the new marks totally out of reach for future OSU quarterbacks.
Here’s a look at where he stood in the OSU passing record books entering the Maryland game.
Single Game Passing Yards
